Community rules

How to post notes and photos here, in plain words. Short version: be kind, stay on topic, and only share photos people agreed to.

  • Be kind

No hate, harassment, threats or rude name-calling. Disagree politely.

  • Stay on topic

Talk about the dance, the place, the music or the teaching. No ads or spam.

  • Protect people

No phone numbers, home addresses or emails. No photos where a child can be recognized.

Who can take part

  • Anyone can browse this site without an account.
  • You must be 13 or older to like pages or leave notes.
  • You must be 18 or older to post photos.

Notes

  • Write about the dance, venue, teacher, band, DJ or style on that page.
  • Do not post phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses or links. Organizers’ public contact details are already on the page.
  • Found a mistake in a listing? Choose “A private correction for our editors”. Only our editors see it.

Photos

  • Only post photos you took, or that you have the right to share.
  • People who can be recognized must have agreed to be posted.
  • No photos where anyone under 18 can be recognized. Many listings are kids’ classes, so please check before you share.
  • Describe the photo in a few words so people who use screen readers know what it shows.
  • We remove hidden location data (GPS) and resize your photo. You still own it; you let us show it on this site.

How we check posts

  • An AI checker (Azure AI Content Safety) reads every note. Clear notes appear right away. Notes it is unsure about wait for a volunteer. Clearly harmful notes are not posted.
  • Every photo waits for a volunteer before anyone else can see it.
  • Notes with links, phone numbers or email addresses always wait for a volunteer.
  • Anyone signed in can press Report. If three people report a post, it is hidden until a volunteer looks at it. Reports that a post shows a child, or shows you, hide it right away.

If you break the rules

We may remove posts and pause or close accounts. Every decision is written down in our log. If you think we got it wrong, send a correction from any page and we will look again once.

Take something down

  • A photo shows you? Press Report and choose “It shows me”. We hide it right away and remove it within 48 hours.
  • Copyright problem? Use the takedown steps on the Sources page.
  • Delete your own posts and account any time on your account page.

This is a volunteer website and is offered as is.
