Dead Ahead
Long Island jam band (based around East Setauket) that stretches out songs by the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and The Band, mixing in blues and Motown. - What we found
- Jam-band shows where fans of the Dead and the Allmans often sway and freestyle, but many gigs are relaxed afternoon brewery sets. A party host described it as a 'jamming' good time; we found no clear report of a packed dance floor.
This is a rough guess; we found little information. Checked October 5, 2026. How we decide.
How we checked (2 sources)
- deadaheadband.net (opens in a new tab): Band site: improvisational rock and blues, not only Grateful Dead songs; 2026 shows at Fadeley's, US Brews, Twin Fork Beer Co. and Seaside Grill.
- thebash.com (opens in a new tab): Booking page for a Long Island 'Dead Ahead' (Commack) with the same Dead/Allman/Gov't Mule songs; a host review calls it a great jam at a beach party.
