Can you dance here?
Maybe. Some people dance, but it is not a dance event (party dancing).
- Party dancing Dance however you like to a band or DJ, like at a club, bar or wedding. No steps or partner needed.
Why we think so
- Live bands play the summer Wednesday cookouts on the big front lawn, so there is open grass near the music. Most guests sit at picnic tables to eat, and none of the sources we found say whether people dance. The cookouts run only in summer (about mid-June to early September) and need a reservation.
How we checked (4 sources)
- shelterislandreporter.timesreview.com (opens in a new tab): Local paper on the 60th summer of the Wednesday lawn barbecues, with a popular local band playing while families eat and kids play.
- kdhamptons.com (opens in a new tab): Describes the Wednesday buffet served at picnic tables across the waterfront lawn with live music; reservations are taken online or by phone.
- mofflylifestylemedia.com (opens in a new tab): Travel feature on the hotel; says a live band plays at the Wednesday BBQ night on the lawn overlooking Peconic Bay.
- caperesorts.com (opens in a new tab): The hotel's own page, listing the BBQs, The Crescent Bar and weekend packages that include live music.
The score is our best guess from the venue, the band and the listing. Crowds, space and rules can change, so ask the venue if dancing matters to you. How the score works.
